About Hill Country Family Clinic
Maria Hooper founded Hill Country Family Clinic and still works there as a primary care provider. She came to it after more than ten years in emergency medicine, family practice and women's and men's health, and says she started the clinic because hospital and chain practice left no time for real conversations. Care runs as direct primary care, so the clinic does not bill insurance for visits and patients either pay per visit or join a monthly plan. Hormone replacement therapy is part of the clinic's Comprehensive Care plan, which handles hormones and medical weight loss alongside ordinary primary care, and hormones are given by mouth, as a topical or by injection. Every new patient starts with a consultation and fasting labs, so you arrive having had nothing but black coffee or water for ten to twelve hours. Two of her three colleagues are certified through The Menopause Society and the clinic carries that badge on every page, but her own bio does not mention menopause.
