Accepting new patients
  • Kahului, HI · In person & virtual
  • Insurance or self-pay · first visit $350

Pacific Menopause is a virtual clinic Dr. Ammerman built to do one thing, which is midlife and menopause care by video. New patient visits run a full 60 minutes, and follow ups are usually booked two to three months later and then spaced out to once a year once symptoms settle. She prescribes FDA approved hormone therapy and testosterone, and she spells out that this means bioidentical hormones such as estradiol and progesterone, which have the same molecular structure as the hormones the body makes. Non hormonal prescriptions are there for women who cannot take hormones or would rather avoid them. Weight is her second focus, and she prescribes both oral and injectable weight loss medication alongside work on nutrition, activity and behaviour. She also owns a gynecology clinic in Kahului, so patients on Maui can choose to see her there in person instead.

Accepting new patients
  • Las Vegas, NV · In person & virtual

Bold Wellness is Torrie Clontz's own virtual practice for women in midlife, run from Las Vegas and open to patients in about fifteen states. Care starts with a two visit intake that includes a wide blood panel drawn at a lab near you and a follow up to go through the results and set a plan. After that most patients stay on a monthly membership that covers prescription changes and messaging with her through the patient portal. Alongside hormone therapy she runs a weight and metabolic program using GLP-1 medication, and she adds functional tests such as gut, cortisol and vaginal microbiome panels when they fit. She is clear that she is not a primary care provider or an OB-GYN, so patients need to keep their own and see her for the hormone and midlife side. Her own hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos diagnosis, which came after a circus career ended in injury, is why she started the practice and she treats that alongside hormones.

Gisele Thissen runs WISH on her own as a fully virtual practice, so every visit happens by video and there is no office to walk into. Every new patient starts with the same long one-on-one assessment, which runs about an hour and covers symptoms, history, medications and previous treatment before anything is decided. She prescribes hormone therapy and women's testosterone where it fits the history, and she treats thyroid problems, metabolic and weight concerns, and sexual health complaints alongside the menopause transition. After the assessment she recommends either a six month course of care called Reclaim or a twelve month concierge year, and neither is required. She spent over a decade as a bedside nurse in obstetrics before moving into private practice, and she sees patients in Spanish as well as English. When an exam, imaging or a specialist is needed she helps arrange it locally and brings the findings back into the plan.

Good Energy is a two-midwife gynecology practice in downtown Batavia, and Sarah is the menopause half of it. She covers perimenopause, menopause and primary ovarian insufficiency, and will use hormone therapy, non-hormonal medication or lifestyle changes depending on what a woman wants. Visits run 30 to 60 minutes, and you can pay per visit or join a membership that bundles an annual visit, a problem visit and a few short follow-ups. Care is in person in Batavia two days a week or by video anywhere in Illinois. Before co-founding this practice she was clinical director of a midwifery group and saw patients virtually for Tia, a women's health primary care company. Trauma-informed care is the guiding idea here, so nothing happens in an exam without being explained first, and the practice keeps a few reduced-rate appointments open each month where you pick the rate yourself with no income paperwork.

She built this practice after her own perimenopause took her nearly two years to work out, despite being a physician herself. The first visit is a long history review with no prescribing attached, and from there patients can move into a six month program that covers lab review, prescriptions and messaging between visits. After that people come back annually or as needed to adjust the plan and refill medication. She prescribes hormone therapy but writes that it works best alongside strength training, sleep and nutrition, calling hormones the floor and lifestyle the ceiling. She is blunt about the wellness industry and says it filled the gap with endless supplements and specialty labs that feel real but often lack the science.

Care starts with an hour-long first visit and then shorter follow-ups every few months until treatment is stable, with portal messaging in between. She mostly prescribes FDA-approved bioidentical estradiol and progesterone that any local pharmacy can fill, and says most women will not need a compounding pharmacy. She does not order a standard lab panel for everyone and often decides on hormones from symptoms and history alone. She writes that hormone therapy was not an option in her own menopause, and the program's answer to hormonal symptoms is supplements, flower essences and lifestyle change rather than medical treatment.
